CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
At the beginning of every new project Steel Solutions in conjunction with our clients carry out a wire frame of the structural steel frame to secure a construction sequence duration.
PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT

At Steel Solutions, we produce detailed pre construction programmes, taking into account the interfaces with other site trades and contractors, which allows us to operate at maximum efficiency, ensuring milestones are achieved.
DRAWING AND DESIGN
Our highly professional, experienced in-house draughting team have a wealth of specialist structural steel knowledge, and adopt a hands-on approach in ensuring concepts and solutions to design proposals.
Through the use of TEKLA, in conjunction with cutting edge Building Information Modelling, our engineers can produce a comprehensive visualisation, which is both highly accurate and highly detailed. This allows our clients up to date models for use with the other design stakeholders.
Steel Solution’s drawing office guarantees quality and efficiency, and our close cooperation with the fabrication teams, and incorporation of their practical skills through our involvement in the production of fabrication and delivery lists, and our item tracking ensures successful fabrication.
Our client liaison and availability allows clients to communicate directly changes or adaptations, and this close customer rapport has paid off in jobs heavy in the design stage.
CONSTRUCTION
FABRICATION
At Steel solutions, our fabrication facilities are unparalleled. Our production capacity of total 300T weekly is aided greatly by the incorporation of automated construction in our production. This includes precision band saw lines, accurate to within 1mm, automated drilling systems, 6 turbine shotblasting systems and a plasma head robotic coping system.
Extensive craneage, up to 20T, fully fitted welding facilities and temperature controlled, PluralPump paintshops all aid a busy and highly efficient production process, along with our skilled floor team. We operate up to excecution class 4 in our fabrication.
QUALITY AND TRAINING
Skills development is extremely important at Steel Solutions, particularly working in a field as dynamic as construction, where techniques are constantly adapting and diversifying.
All our personnel are trained extensively in manual handling, slinging, abrasive wheels, handheld tools, forklift tickets and use of respiratory protective equipment. Specific machinery training is also provided.
All our fabricators are trained to the highest level, in line with the OHSAS 18001:2007 standards, and continuous training helps keep their knowledge fresh.
Our welding and fitting processes are subject to extensive quality control checks at every stage of production, ensuring our high standards are met and maintained.
PAINTWORK
Paintwork plays an integral part in securing the desired finish for a component, and Steel Solutions operates two fully equipped hydrapump paintshops. In house inspection and strict quality control is undertaken throughout the entire production process.
Our range of products varies from non- corrosive solutions, to high quality intumescent coatings, particularly important in health and safety standards and fireblocking techniques deployed today.
Intumescent resistance to fire is provided through our coatings for up to 2 hours, or longer, as required in accordance with the contract specification, with C5i intumescent water, solvent and epoxy based options available.
ERECTION
Steel Solutions have a number of highly experienced erecting teams, comprised of a foreman and three erectors. These are all trained to suitable standards in health and safety, particularly in working at extreme heights and crane operation.
Steel Solutions have coped in erecting in all conditions, be it in a restricted space, for example a busy inner city, or at extreme heights.
